Try Again| Overcoming The Fear Of Failure

I  know what it’s like.

To give it your all and it still not be enough. To put effort into something only for it to come crashing down. To feel like you’ve gave it all you’ve got and still fail. To make a bold move and not see the results you were hoping for.

I know what it’s like.

I’ve been there before probably more times than I’m willing to admit. And if I’m really honest nothing in the world hurts more than  failure does. Failure destroys your confidence. Failure makes you doubt. Failure makes you regret. It’s the one thing in the world that’s powerful enough to cause even the most confident to hide behide the mask of shame.

I know what it’s like.

To ask yourself questions like is it really worth trying again? What if I fail again? What if I fail even worst than before?

I know what it’s like to be your own worst critic.

I get it. I really do.

But can I suggest something?

What if it IS worth trying again? What if you DON’T fail? What if THIS time is different?

Never underestimate the power of another try! So what you failed before. So what it didn’t turn out quite like you wanted it to. Keep trying!

You’re only a failure when you choose to give up

I’m reminded of a story found in 2 Kings 5:10-14. God sent a message to Naaman through the prophet Elisha. The message was simple…”go wash yourself in the Jordan seven times and your flesh will be restored”. God didn’t say go wash yourself one time or even five times, He said go wash yourself SEVEN times! If Naaman had given up after the first or third try, he would’ve missed his healing.

Sometimes your miracle is behind the door of another try

Powerful things happen when we choose to keep trying in the midst of failure! Don’t allow past failures to make you fear trying again.

Refuse to give up. You may have failed before but that doesn’t mean you’re going to fail THIS time.

Choose to look failure right in the eyes and TRY AGAIN!

Thanks so much for reading!

Do you know someone who could use this encouragement? SHARE THIS WITH THEM!

If you’re struggling to find the courage to try again because of past failures, what’s your biggest fear? What’s keeping you from going forth?
